September 21: vs. Davidson Day

Woodlawn came blazing right out of the gate against the Davidson Day Patriots, scoring a goal in the first 10 minutes: Jake Johnson ’17 found Hank Grzeszczak ’19, who took the ball to the goal. The Patriots’ goalkeeper saved Hank’s first attempt, but with great determination Hank followed his shot with a rebound to give Woodlawn the early lead. Playing with only eight field players, however, the Blazers were eventually worn down by the Patriots. Despite 30 saves from Nick Trovato ’19, the game ended 10 – 1 in favor of Davidson Day.
